This smells like a dram from the past: this typical combination of old sherry casks with bourbon influence too. It's this combination of wax, honey and mint. It's one of the gentler and sweeter versions, I assume. It's taste is very oily and has a lovely spicy finish. I'm not sure if it was something exceptional in those days (I think rather not), but very oily (which is nice). Nowadays, these ones are a special treat and a pleasure to enjoy. Nose Very sweet and mild: beeswax, honey, dried fruit mix, sweet oranges, hay, some glue and pear shining through. Later, vanilla and oak polish reveal themselves. It gets a bit oily and nutty on marzipan, but that's is for the complexity. After a while, it shows its herbal side more and more with a fair amount of mint. Taste Soft, oily, intensely honeyed, herbal and fruity (dried), getting nicely bitter towards the end. Finish Medium, on soft spices, only a little pepper, and mainly dried fruit.
