I hadn't tried this since 2005 and the ensuing 11 years have made a noticeable difference as the nose of mostly ripe black fruit aromas now display some secondary characters along with plenty of spice, smoke and earth notes. There is excellent ripeness to the beautifully textured and velvety multidimensional flavors that deliver outstanding depth and length on the still muscular, indeed even robust finish. For my taste this overtly stony effort has reached its apogee though I underscore that it should hold at this level for years to come. Note that I have had mostly consistent notes that have ranged from 92 to 94 points.
