At present, this is quite oaky yet the density of the ripe orchard fruit nose and powerful, indeed muscular and robust flavors that are sufficiently concentrated that it should integrate with time. The Drouhin Montrachet is usually one of the more elegant and restrained example of the vineyard but the '03 is not built along those lines. Rather, this is a bruiser that has plenty of everything including noticeable finishing warmth. In short, this isn't my style yet this is a solid, impressively complex effort that very much reflects the style of the vintage.
