A surprisingly mature but incredibly complex, seductive and broad ranging nose of earth, game, spice, pungent Gevrey earth and underbrush notes leads to rich, full and notably powerful big-bodied flavors that possess serious mid-palate concentration and huge length on the sappy and velvety finish. This is a most impressive wine as it's at once massively scaled yet elegant, pure and refined. For my taste it is very close to its peak and with 30 or so minutes or air this could actually be enjoyed now. While this will probably not be a truly long distance runner in the context of the great vintages of this legendary wine, it will still be capable of 30 to 40 years of longevity. Consistent notes.
