An herbal-suffused nose of red berry fruit and overt spiciness merges into round, supple and forward middle weight flavors that possess an attractive sappiness but like the straight Vosne, this seems awkward and lacking in energy on the otherwise balanced finish. My score offers the benefit of the doubt due to the tremendous track record this wine has compiled in the last ten years but it would be fair to say that, at present at least, it is mildly disappointing.
