An extremely ripe but not roasted nose displays notes of menthol, plum liqueur, violet and a touch of mocha. The robust, concentrated and palate coating medium weight plus flavors possess a positively gorgeous mouth feel thanks to the abundant level of dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the still very firm tannic spine on the solidly persistent and remarkably rich finish where a hint of bitter chocolate appears. The superb richness and dry extract render this approachable now though if you wish to drink this at its full maturity it will be necessary to wait for another 8 to 10 years. Note that like the '09 (see herein) this is not my favorite vintage of the Mugnier Fuées but once again it is indisputably a wine of excellent quality.
