Very lively appearance; unmistakable Mesnil nose, deep and light at the same time, lovely complexity, apple and pear fruit, hint of walnut, fresh, subtle and rich, freshly baked bread and vanilla custard; dry, borderline austere but delicate and balanced owing to its ripe Chardonnay fruit, medium weight, a study in style and elegance, chalky minerality; excellent length. The epitome of its style but I wonder whether it has the stamina for a very long life.
