Impressive, alive, very Krug. Medium deep gold, modest but active spray of tiny bubbles. Smells of walnuts, dark apple, molasses. Thick texture for champagne. Concentrated flavors of dark stewed yellow fruit. Remarkably persistent. The 1989 vintage yielded powerful and heavy champagnes but a perfectly preserved Collection is emphatic and old - but not tired.
