Intense, coffee and dark chocolate with a whiff of smoke - really complex and rich - fantastic!
Quite darker than the red label bottling - that might explain the black label - the back label is more intense, leathery and also a bit more tannic (bitter) - I probably like the red label a bit more because it is more balanced and drinkable.
Nose
Espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted bread, dried fruits, dates, figs, plums, little raisins, molasses, acacia honey, sherry wood, hints of leather, pipe tobacco, whiffs of smoke, little farmy and mushrooms, little meaty - great!
Taste
Oily, creamy, little punchy, liquorice, good sweetness, more dried fruits, cocoa, dark chocolate, coffee, little toffee, heavy sherry, spices, little cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, little tannic, hints of herbs - excellent!
Finish
Long, warm, spicy, tannic, still sweet, coffee, little herbal, menthol and eucalyptus coming up
