Ratings & Tasting Notes

Medium ruby colour, very open and spicy on the nose with an almost overwhelming tobacco and cigar nose initially. Started to mellow and bit after 30 mins of air in the glass. In the mouth I found it a bit tannic with a touch of dryness. Again this seemed to soften a bit with air. Overall the wine seemed very young and exhibited that Indian spice bazaar nose and deep plum/cherry and earthy nose which is quite characteristic of Petrus. Perhaps this needs more time? Slightly more about the dry slightly austere finish. Thank you for RT for a very generous bottle open with K and the kids over a home cooked school night Chinese dinner.

Weedy, herbaceous, vegetal notes intermixed with notes of tea, earthy cherries, and a hint of licorice are all present in the aromas and the attack. In the mouth the wine is medium-bodied and beginning to shows some very hard, astringent tannin in the finish, which has become increasingly attenuated over the last several years.
