Still quite deeply colored. Markedly spicy and earthy aromas that display no secondary nuances are comprised by notes of blueberry, red currant and violet. The rich, full-bodied, concentrated and overtly powerful and muscular flavors possess fine depth and persistence. I have had several different experiences with this wine as some bottles seem exceptionally impressive and others seem to lack depth and are a bit rustic and chewy; my scores have ranged between 91 and 94. While this could certainly be enjoyed now, there is just a bit of upside development potential remaining and I would be inclined to hold it for another 3 to 5 years first.
