Pure, spicy and elegant aromas consist of both red and dark pinot fruit, sandalwood and exotic tea, especially jasmine. There is excellent underlying tension to the equally sleek and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess very fine mid-palate density as well as excellent depth on the palate coating and relatively powerful finish. This hugely long effort is one of those wines that should amply repay 10 to 12 years of cellaring but be approachable after only 5 to 7. In a word, terrific.
