I haven't had this wine in several years and I'm not sure if my note for this wine in 750 ml was too conservative or the freshness inherent in magnum format was the difference maker but either way, this bottle was notably more interesting than my last experience. A positively beautiful and wonderfully fresh nose offers up notes of hazelnut, ripe peach and a touch of spice, all of which are picked up by the round, rich, fleshy and generous medium plus weight flavors that possess fine precision and superb length. But the real force of this wine is the impeccable acid/fruit/concentration balance. A wine that should continue to improve for several years as well as drink well another two decades.
