Pepper, earth, spice, truffle, game and underbrush notes mix with relatively somber dark pinot fruit and this is a good deal more serious in character than the Charmes. The moderately powerful flavors are blessed with an abundance of mid-palate sap that confers a velvety quality to the solid tannic backbone and this finishes with outstanding freshness and vibrancy plus chewy tannins.
