High class whisky and a good example for a madeira finish that works. Nose Warming, flowery and very fruity at first nosing. There are strong winey aromas plus notes of apples, raspberry and elderflower syrup. Some sweet chestnuts in the background. A delightful tasty combination. Taste Rich, elegant and refined at first mouthfeel. On the one hand sweet and fruity, on the other hand toffee, chestnuts and wood. Excellent. Finish Long, becomes spicy (peppery) with more wood and a little sawdust in the end.
