Great, characterful Malt. Has these hard-to-describe, spicy-herbaceous, exotic tones that I've had with several high-quality Japanese malts and that make them special. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and never felt. Water opens it up and makes it even more complex. Nose Dense, compact. Jasmine, exotic wood notes, spicy-herbaceous. Undergrowth, vanilla. Slightly smoky green tea. With water: malty tones, tea leaves, apricot and some coniferous woods are added. Sandalwood, orange and orange blossom. Flowery undertones. Taste Spicy, full of character. Compact, neat power. Rich volume. To chew. Gradually fruity undertones come through. Pencil. With water: becomes more masculine, more powerful, even fuller and a bit sharper. Tea leaves, mint, jasmine. Finish Spicy, long. Malting, pencil, sandalwood. With water: spicy, herbaceous, intense. Tea leaves, jasmine. Dry and slightly dry.
