Typical G&M Brown Label whisky for me. Delicate beautiful old style nose (93+), unfortunately followed by a thin palate (80-). The difference in depth between the nose and palate is huge. But I'm lucky that I'm able to taste such an old and rare Oban. Nose A very delicate nose of old books on dusty bookshelves. Beeswax. Herbal and perfumy notes. Cumin. Fruity sweetness of oranges and apricots at the background. Some honey as well. Complex. I could nose this for hours. Taste Light and quite clean. Very thin. Hints of sherry. Sweet oak. Cinnamon, liquorice and ginger. Finish Short. Drops dead almost instantly. Dry. Slightly spiced. Bitterness.
