To date, my favourite whisky of all time. Sampled at Boisdale Canary Wharf. At the time it was the most expensive single dram I'd ever bought, and I couldn't wait until I got back to our table, so took a first sniff at the bar. I was so awestruck that I yelled clear across the room "Oh wow, you've got to smell this!". Good times. The nose is unbelievably complex. Brown sugar, old-fashioned marmalade, beach aromas, ozone, coal smoke, tarry. The palate is a direct translation from the nose. The finish has light smoke and citrus. Very, very special.
