Like many 2004s today there is a touch of reduction present yet it's not so strong as to completely mask the still youthful fruit, spice and floral scents; I would strongly suggest decanting this for 20 minutes or so first. Otherwise there is terrific energy, tension and delineation to the mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors that possess focused power and huge length. Though this is still on the way up, it could easily be drunk now with pleasure as it's knocking on the door or its peak. Note that if that old school white burgundy reduction is not your thing this may not appeal to you as much as it did for me but the flavor authority and sheer depth of material is irreproachable. Tasted multiple times over the years, including twice in 2018, with remarkably consistent results.
