This has arrived at its full maturity with an impressive complex nose of very ripe exotic and dried orchard fruit aromas that are trimmed in discreet wood and spice nuances. There is imposing size and weight to the concentrated and broad shouldered flavors that possess an opulent and discintly textured palate impression that really coats the palate with dried extract on the powerful and lingering finish. This is a huge if not especially elegant Montrachet but one that certainly makes a firm statement. For my taste, this has just arrived on the front edge of its prime drinking window and it should hold here for many years. I have tried this wine twice, once with the experience described above and another bottle being distinctly prematurely oxidized.
