I agree with the consensus rating and how it delivers! I had a bottle with some ullage, but more to do with the cork and no signs of seepage. Did not decant; just pop and pour (stood upright for a few hours). Amazing aromatics; upon the second pour. Forest floor, minerality, lead pencil, oak integration and slight pipe tobacco. Truly does define what a mature Latour is about. Body was elegant and velvety tannins. Fruit was there and not dried out (more Red Fruit of red cherries). Long finish. Glad I have another bottle; but would drink this one up unless in Magnum or large bottle format

Tasted from my cellar, this wine is fully mature, not terribly concentrated, and slightly herbaceous, exhibiting aromas of sweaty saddle leather, melted asphalt, tobacco, and red as well as black fruits. Notions of caramel and roasted nuts also emerge. A medium-bodied effort with soft tannin, but little persistence and length, it requires consumption over the next decade.
