Tasted blind with no material decant. Forest berries, just marginally leather and a bit of cigar box, hints of savory spices, a few floral notes, dried herbs and green pepper. Over time the herbal aromatics become more prominent. Fresh albeit with an acidic overhang on the palate, tannin molten away providing for a light structure. Some green pepper notes. Overall surprisingly fruit forward, elegant and intellectual in style. But a big wine in a small vintage is, unfortunately, only a solid wine in the end.
