I feel like nothing I have is ready to drink or its old enough that my wife won't drink it. So I decided to grab one of my few wines from the dreaded 2011 vintage. I had had this wine before and found it green and tannic and very austere. I decided I wouldn't touch until an hour of air. This opaque ruby red wine gives off some pleasant menthol licorice and red berry notes. Notably softer in the mouth with some ripe black fruits coating the palate. Tannins present but well integrated. This is developing very nicely.
