A maturing but not completely secondary nose is comprised of spice, dried flowers and a hint of sandalwood. There is a touch of minerality to the delicious and delineated middle weight flavors that aren't especially dense though they are by no means dilute either. An agreeably vibrant and lingering finish possesses the typical acidity of the '96 vintage which imparts just a hint of dryness. As such I would be drinking this now and over the next 10 years or so because the acidity may win out if this is held longer. Tasted only once recently though several times in its youth.
