An aged but entirely clean nose displays almost no tropical nuances with hints of sous-bois and wood toast adding breadth to the otherwise mature white burg aromas. There is less concentration and notably less complexity than I would have expected from the mid-palate and the finish, while clean and balanced, isn't especially persistent. Though not flawed in any way, I was frankly a bit disappointed with the '94 Montrachet, even when viewed in the context of the vintage. Tasted only once recently.
