This too displays barnyard nuances that don't spoil the nose but they do undermine the sense of purity of the otherwise very pretty and spicy if restrained red and dark pinot fruit, floral and discreet sandalwood aromas. There is fine density to the beautifully well-detailed and mineral-inflected flavors that deliver excellent length though there is a trace of backend dryness. Both this and the Bonnes Mares didn't show very well though it's impossible to say whether it was simply these two bottles or a sign of a broader problem.
