Consistent with the style of both the vintage and the Domaine, there is noticeable exoticism to the markedly ripe yet agreeably fresh aromas of white and yellow peach, jasmine tea, floral and a panoply of spice nuances. There is outstanding mid-palate density to the broad-shouldered, powerful and mouth coating flavors that display superb length on the highly complex finish that exhibits just a touch of warmth. This is a breathtaking wine in its sheer scale and muscle and while I wouldn't describ it as an elegant vintage for the DRC Montrachet, it is indisputably impressive. It is also very much still improving though it's not so far away from it's peak that it couldn't be enjoyed now.
