There is still a seductive sweetness to the intensely floral-scented nose of various red berry fruit that are trimmed in a beautiful array of spice elements where even at 7 years of age, the aromas remain quite primary. The intense and well-detailed middle weight plus flavors culminate in a firm, muscular and very serious finish that is dusty, austere and compact, indeed the word impenetrable comes to mind. This is clearly backward and very much built-to-age and in magnum format, a wine that should just be buried in the back of the cellar and essentially forgotten for at least the next decade.
