Up until 2005, I had had the pleasure of trying this on multiple occasions but not again until two bottles were opened in November 2021 at an event in Burgundy. One of them was very advanced and barely drinkable (storage?) and another which was gorgeous. The better of the two displayed ripe and fully mature aromas of a broad range of spice elements, secondary dark berry fruit, dried flowers and background hints of sous-bois. The relatively robust and big-bodied flavors still possess both good verve and muscle along with real depth of dry extract and knockout good length on the still somewhat tannic finish. I would observe that this is a burly Amoureuses in the context of what is typical though impressive and lovely all the same. My scores have generall ranged in the 93 to 94 point range though as noted, I have had a few clunkers as well. Lastly, well-stored bottles, while now fully mature, should continue to drink well. In addtion to an excellent bottled enjoyed in 2005, another bottle opened in 2003 was a good deal less interesting with an advanced nose and (overly) prominent finishing tannins.
