This stunner of a Bâtard hadn't come my way since 2004 but I'm happy that it did with its beautifully elegant and still notably fresh floral and spice aromas that are trimmed in just enough wood to merit mentioning. There is outstanding density to the sappy and notably concentrated big-bodied flavors that are sweet and pure while exuding an impressive amount of dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine shaping the hugely long, powerful and balanced finale. This isn't the most complex Ramonet Bâtard that I have ever had but it's still a complete knockout! Moreover, it should continue to drink well for at least another decade.
