Colour: Pale yellow Aroma / bouquet: One of the most expressive Sauvignon Blancs I ever had in my glass. My first impression: somewhat 'sweaty', elderflower, green apples. Despite the fermentation in mainly older barrels (only 5% new), the impression of wood is noticeable. Taste / Aftertaste: Seriously expressive: thick and concentrated, all the aromas of the bouquet come together in on the palate in a harmonious way. Intense and powerful SB with a wonderful freshness on the one hand and a pleasant concentration and thickness on the other. Wonderful balance, impressive length General / potential: A great Sauvignon Blanc On the one hand in everything 'new world', expressive and with a clear effect of the fermentation in (mainly older) oak barrels, but on the other hand beautifully refined… Question of conscience. How does this wine compare to the 'best white Bordeaux'? Compared to a Haut-Brion blanc from a good year, this greatness from Napa Valley has, in my opinion, just lost the match when it comes to refinement and harmony. A great wine, definitely the most beautiful 'new world' SB. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 12 + Taste / Aftertaste: 17 + General / Potential: 9 = 93/100
