Despite the tougher vintage, this wine shows great secondary characteristics. The fruit is still present, more on the nose than the palate at first. But as the wine opened up, more fruit became evident to taste, with nice smoky character. I only started sensing the earthy character after the bottle was open 90 minutes. After 3 hours, the wine was still elegant and more complete. At its peak today.
