Moderate bricking. The expressive nose is a beautiful, elegant, cool and airy blend of dried cherry, rose petal, sous-bois and an abundance of classic Vosne spice elements. The supple, indeed almost lilting, flavors pack excellent punch and detail along with a gorgeous mouth feel and evident minerality while bright but not drying acidity shapes the delicate yet powerful finish which delivers fine length. This exceptionally classy effort has peaked and it's not a vintage for the very long-term as it risks eventually drying out if held for too long. This probability was borne out as the '01 RC seemed somewhat fatigued with extended airing. Even so, this is still more than capable of delivering a sublime drinking experience.
